At Halswell Fresh Fruit n Vege you’ll step into a store with little bits of everything to tempt and inspire the taste buds. We are shoppers to and also expect the best of the best for our hard earned money just like you

Our core is simple to sell fresh, quality fruit and vege 7 days a week

Dunc and I are true foodies, and we love to supply the best seasonal produce NZ has to offer. We’re committed to providing produce that meets the strictest health and safety standards with GAP (Good Agricultural Practices). We purchase daily from a grower owned produce market in Hornby

We’re also MPI accredited, so you know our premises and food are safe and clean.

The shelves are filled daily, straight off the truck. For us, it’s a journey from the farm where it’s grown to your plate.

As well as produce, you’ll see peppered throughout the store lots of artisan goodies from Christchurch, the Tasman/Nelson region, and across NZ. Small-batch producers are a huge part of the store, as they too are small businesses.

Vege Girl meets Farmer
who wanted a country wife…

Fast forward a couple of years, and here we are – proud owners of Halswell Fresh Fruit & Vege on Sparks Road, right in the heart of the Halswell community. We are lucky enough to call Banks Peninsula our home with our 7 furkids, chooks and pet sheep Duncan is a farmer and his days are flat out working for Willesden Farms , Black Angus are his passion and dairy support

Having been in the produce industry 40years owning a little local greengrocer that prides itself on the freshest fruit and veg, along with genuine, superior customer service is my passion . We believe in the importance of connection – when you visit us, you’re not just another person in a supermarket queue, you’re part of our family, and you matter.

Our team of “vegeologists” are true customer service superstars and we are very fortunate to have such a great team . We share stories ,laughter and banter , thats how life should be .

There’s always a dog treat waiting in store for your fur babies. 🐾

We love supporting local farmers and growers – from the freshest, sweetest berries and stone fruit in summer to the tastiest spuds and yams in winter, there’s something for everyone’s tum.

We also enjoy getting behind our community, whether it’s supporting Weetbix Tryathalons, Rugby teams ,Netball , we love watching on the sidelines cheering a local team
